Meet Robin

I'm Robin Le Roy-Kyle, the gal with three boys’ names. (You can see why I chose RobinLK as my internet name!) My art is best known for its bright colors, organic shapes, many layers, gestural marks, and abstract faces + florals. It reflects life in full color— often messy and always changing.

I served in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War era. I'm service-disabled, a distinction I share, because disabilities aren't always obvious, and I want to help us be mindful.

I'm also a retired Florida educator who left a 27-year teaching career during COVID to grow my part-time creative business, serving women 15 - 50+.

I like to say, "Mixed-media art discovered me" in 2015 during a challenging life chapter. Discovering a new love for visual arts, a renewed writing voice, and the courage to pursue my dreams sent me on a path I could never have imagined, though I feel I manifested.

My art and writing have been published in Art Journaling Magazine, The Florida Writer, and EverythingBrevard.com.

Advocating for Self-care, Mental Health, and a Growth Mindset

I spend most of my time in my coastal studios these days, painting, while also promoting creativity as a joyful, curious path for intentional self-care, positive mental health, and a continued growth mindset. This is also my own purposeful approach to living what I advocate for.

When not in the studio, you can find me traveling to explore art museums, galleries, and artist communities... all inspiring my ongoing art and writing.

With a focus on abstract expressionism, florals and fun faces are often seen in my work, taking shape on paper, canvas, and other alternate surfaces, like altered-book journals and fabric.

What if...? is my mantra in the art studio, leading to layered art that reflects life's What if...? moments. For me, the process is more satisfying than the outcome. (Though I do love a finished project!)

My mission is to help others focus on self-care, mental health, and a growth mindset as impactful outcomes of creativity, whether making art or viewing it.

I no longer teach/host classes, workshops, groups, and retreats regularly, but occasionally offer a session to help women 15 - 50+ discover the benefits of creating— something many of us haven't done since we were children.

Adding words, sometimes visible and often not, helps me highlight universal truths through interpretive stories. Words + colors guide the process.

How does What if...? fit into your thinking and growing?
